The developers’ Exciting Journey

As a developer at Elements there are different ways to grow. Some people enjoy the craft and spend their whole career bustin’ out the best technical solutions one can imagine. Let’s call this a Tech Path. Some others tend to enjoy the managerial side more and move towards leading teams to success. Let’s call this a People Path. Whatever path you choose, we see it as equally valuable. So, we designed the Developers’ Growth path in a manner that adapts to your career choices.

Explore your path

In case the Tech Path is your cup of tea, we see many possibilities for your career progression: You may choose to specialise in one stack and within that stack keep on growing forever (hey, the world is changing, and the tech evolves with it right? So, there is always more to learn!). You may also decide to transition to a new stack/technology; or why not take on a new specialisation (DevOps, security, architect, etc.)? We can really go on forever listing different possibilities, but you get the gist, becoming a manager is not the only way for you to grow, so come and speak to us to see how we can support you in your exciting tech adventure.

Alternatively, if the People Path is your thing, we have got you covered too. We love people that are good with people and take care of teams, so embark on that journey and our management and HR team will be happy to give you a helping hand.

By the way, if for whatever reason you want to switch paths, we are totally open to that. Please, feel free to let us know. Remember, you own your growth, and we are here to guide you the way we can.

Walking the path

As said, whatever your ambitions are, we have got you covered in this fairly simple career path. When you start your journey as a Trainee or Developer I you are inexperienced and mostly focused on getting knowledge, learning from others and contributing to your best ability. As you grow, you become more knowledgeable and confident and with that comes your continually increasing impact to the project, team and company.

As a mature professional, you are probably more aware of what you really feel passionate about. Some of you may become senior developers, others may feel like becoming team leads, but many of you may just stick to being a Developer IV because that’s simply what may feel right for you. And the way we see it, that’s equally amazing! To grow does not mean to move to the next position. In fact, as you widen experience over time within the same position, your added value also grows, and this is what matters most.
